As promised in my DIY hat refashion last week, I’m excited to bring you guys the next project in this year’s DIY beach series. Today, I’ll be showing you how to make your own huge, tassel beach towel!
This DIY beach towel can really be whatever size you want. I used 1 yard of fabric for mine, but am recommending that you use 1 1/2 yards to really give yourself the massive, extended length that makes beach towels so comfortable to lounge on.
I chose to use matching sew-on trimming with my new refashioned beach hat. It’s fun to coordinate right? Also, this monokini is a refashion DIY I’ll be posting later this week! It seriously may be one my new favorite swimming suits! In case you missed it, you can see my other DIY swimsuits HERE and HERE.
One of the added perks to making your own beach wear is the added confidence in knowing that nobody else will ever be wearing your swimming suit. I don’t care how much you workout, there’s always a moment of self-consciousness when you’re nearly naked in public for a day. It’s only magnified when the hot girl a few towels down shows up in the exact same bikini and seems to be rocking it better than you. lol.
Anyways, on to the DIY beach towel tutorial!
You will be amazed at how simple this project is. In less than an hour, you could even make matching ones for the kiddos. Imagine the vacation photos!
