I’m one of those people who’s ridiculously easy to read. When I’m lost, I look lost. When I’m daydreaming, I swear my eyes go blank. When I’m tired, I look tired. This is exactly why with four kids and an over-booked calendar, it’s important to have an eye serum I’m really in love with. I’ve spent hours researching natural ingredients, what works and what doesn’t to bring you the best product DIY I know of. Ladies, without further ado, I give you this super-simple DIY Caffeine Eye Serum.
Each ingredient packs a lot of power and brings something beneficial to the table. No fillers, preservatives, or chemicals here. Since I like to know exactly why I’m putting certain kitchen components on my face, here’s the breakdown:
Espresso: First thing in the morning, the more caffeine the better right? I used straight espresso since it has the highest concentration of the good stuff. Caffeine constricts the blood vessels under the skin, which reduces puffiness and dark circles under your eyes.
Avocado Oil: Avocado Oil is incredible for your skin due to it’s healthy, monounsaturated fatty acids and Vitamin E. It smooths and moisturizes while improving your skin tone. The high level of antioxidants in Avocado Oil also make it incredible at calming and soothing sensitive skin and has even shown to help with eczema and sunburns. Even better, the latest research has concluded that avocado oil has incredible anti-aging qualities and has been shown to successfully fight free radicals from damaging your skin. The more I learn about Avocado Oil, the more I want to find new ways to include it into my beauty regimen.
Almond Oil: Almond Oil has the magical ability to gently and effectively brighten and reduce the look of dark circles around your eyes. Within about two weeks, you should expect to see an improvement. It is also high in Vitamin A and antioxidants, making it great at reducing fine lines and creating more supple skin.
All three together make the best all-natural eye serum I know of. You can whip yourself up a batch in your own kitchen without much work at all. Here’s how:
Supplies:
The Process:
- First, infuse Almond Oil with caffeine by pouring equal parts oil and coffee grounds into a glass jar and letting sit for a week. I used small jar and stored it in a cupboard for 7 days.
- Once your oil is rich and dark, strain the coffee grounds out with cheesecloth or a strong paper towel. Try to get as much oil out as possible without including coffee grounds. You may need to strain the oil several times to ensure no grounds are left behind.
- Mix 1 tablespoon of Avocado Oil with your Almond Oil and pour into a Glass Roll-on Bottle.
Note: You don’t need to store your Caffeine Eye Serum in the refrigerator but the chilled metal roller ball with only further reduce morning puffiness and will feel even more refreshing when you put it on. Whichever works best for you.
