I am so excited that this little blog is growing the way it has! To celebrate, I thought we’d make this super-chic gold and marble serving tray and enjoy some champagne (or red wine).
Today’s tutorial is super simple and super versatile. I found this plain, white tray at a thrift store for about $2 but I know the dollar store sells similar ones too. It was fine and all before but I decided it’d be even better if it was a little more glam. Now this gold and marble serving tray is perfect for holding a champagne glass or cup of tea while you read in bed. It’s also an ultra-versatile home decor piece. I love how a simple tray defines a little corner and seems to visually ground everything on it.

How To Make A Gold And Marble Serving Tray
First, break out your spray paint and paint your old tray gold. Since mine was white, it only took one coat. Let it dry before moving on to the next step.
Use your scissors to trim your paper to fit inside your tray. Don’t worry about gluing anything just yet. Since the edge of your paper is so visible, try to be as neat as possible during this step.
Remove your paper and squeeze some PVA Glue on the bottom of your tray.
Use a paintbrush to spread it around the bottom of your tray.
Now, lay your paper back on the bottom. Use your fingers to squeeze any air bubbles out. Next, squeeze some more PVA Glue over the top of your paper and spread around again. Let the whole thing dry and your new, glam tray is complete!
