I’ve had long hair for several years now. It’s actually easier than most people think to grow your hair out if we just stop messing with it. Besides sleeping on a silk pillowcase (tutorial HERE) avoiding heat styling, and using a mild hair dye (see what I recommend HERE) there are few things that make my hair as healthy and manageable as using the best DIY hair mask.
Today I’m going to share the best DIY hair mask I use to make my hair grow faster and thicker.
Even though sometimes it gives me a literal neck-ache from it’s sheer weight, I love having long hair. I love being able to braid it and style it… and the occasional compliment from a stranger doesn’t suck. It’s taken a bit to get it to this length, but not as long as some would think. My hair grows pretty fast and is healthier than it’s been in years thanks to a few little tricks I’ve learned. Today, I’m gunna share my favorites with you. Among them, is this weekly DIY Hair Mask.
While I’ve experimented with several different masks, this one is my new favorite. It combines all the ingredients that are most effective for my hair and always leave it soft and shiny.
Mix these 3 ingredients in a bowl and apply to dry hair. I know the thought of slapping raw egg on your head sounds unappealing, but your hair will soak this mask up. Seriously! I once even laid a towel over my pillow and let the mixture sit all night long as I slept. My hair drank this mask up so much, I had no residue on my pillow the next morning.
This DIY hair mask has absolutely been a game changer in making my hair more manageable. Are you ready to try it out?
-2 raw eggs
-1/4 cup Castor Oil
-1/4 cup Avocado Oil
That’s it! Sometimes simple really is best.
Here’s why each ingredient is so important:
Eggs are little miracle workers for hair-growth and countering unwanted hair loss. They also add incredible volume and a natural shine, which help to condition each strand.
The vitamins, amino acids, and high fat content make Avocado Oil promote healthy cell growth and are great at restoring a healthy scalp. It also is an excellent deep conditioner and adds strength to damaged hair.
Castor oil carries ricinoleic acid and omega- 6 essential fatty acids, which accelerate blood circulation to the scalp and increases hair growth. It works on nourishing the scalp and strengthening the roots with the help of essential nutrients. Castor oil is also incredible for adding intense moisture and thickness to hair.
So give this little DIY Hair Mask a try and let me know what you thought? Personally, I have loved it and hope you will too!
