There’s part of me that hopes the gold and marble trend never dies…. and proof of that is clear when you see my new at-home blogger’s office. I love the glamour and style of classic marble and gold, so creating coordinating storage boxes seemed like the obvious next step. That’s why this week I’ll show you how I made this chic little storage container out of a plain shoe box.
Yup…. a free shoe box
….. and leftover contact paper from my office desk makeover.
Steps:
I started with a plain, kid’s-size shoe box and just spray painted the top gold and the inside white. I wanted a crisp, clean look both inside and out since I plan on using this little container almost every day. Let the spray paint dry completely before applying contact paper.
Next, I took out the extra contact paper I had on hand from an office desk makeover. I only use this kind of contact paper. Trust me, I tried several and this one looks the best and is the easiest to use.
Wasn’t that simple? I really love the look of it and love how it adds just a little extra style anywhere you stash it.
You can use these containers however you like and depending on the size of box you use, could have an entire storage solution that looks so much better than regular shoe-boxes. Since this project was so easy, I plan on making extra containers to organize my closet and living room.
Thank you so much for reading this Home DIY Idea and as always, if you have any questions, just let me know in the comments below and I’ll be sure to get back to you.
I’d also love to hear how you guys are making this project your own and customizing it to suit your space.
