Since it’s been awhile since we did our last DIY clothing tutorial, I thought it fitting to create a super-simple DIY sweater from scratch today!
Making your own clothes is not only my favorite creative outlet, but it gives you complete freedom to create pieces you love that fit exactly the way you want them to.
The best part? This sweater can be completed in just 5 easy steps!
For today tutorial, we’ll be using a t-shirt or sweater you already have and love to create a basic pattern. That way when you are done, you know that your sweater is going to fit exactly how you like!
I’ve designed this “pattern” to eliminate a few common pattern-making frustrations by creating dolman sleeves, raw edges, and a slightly oversize fit.
This sweater is perfect for a cold, winter day and I love styling it with lace bralettes (see the tutorial for my DIY bralette HERE) and distressed jeans. It’s perfectly casual, totally comfortable, and really cozy.
I can’t wait to see how your DIY sweater turns out!
Follow me on instagram and tag me with a photo of your completed sweater! I’ll be sure to share it on my page!
