Pearl Accent Jeans are all over fashion blogs lately and make for such a cute update on basic denim. I love how the neutral pearl beads coordinate with almost anything and are incredibly easy to style. The only problem (like so many trends) is the high price tag that goes along with it. Rest assured, I’ve got you covered. In less than 20 minutes you can give your old jeans an updated look and you can rock the trend for a fraction of the price!

How to Make Pearl Accent Jeans
Making these pearl accent jeans is a super-simple process. Start out by laying your denim out on a table and deciding what look you’re going for. Do you want your pearls more condensed around the pocket and upper part of your jeans? Will you use all the same size bead or mix it up with a few sizes? While it’s important to be able to change your mind and be flexible throughout the process, it’s also helpful to have an image in your mind of what you want them to look like when you are done.
Thread your hand sewing needle and tie a knot in the end of your thread. Start out with your hand on in inside of your jeans and pressing your needle through the front before sliding your first pearl bead onto the thread. This will hide the beginning knot when your jeans are on and creates a more polished look.
Once one bead is on your thread, sew your needle back through the top of your denim and out again about an inch (or even 2 inches) away from your last bead. As long as your thread remains tight, you’ll have no problem taking your jeans off or putting them on since the thread will be snug against the backside of your fabric.
Keep working your way down your jeans until you’ve achieved the look you want and tie the thread off on the backside (the inside) of your jeans. Try them on and enjoy!
