Today’s post is kind a gigantic deal for me. When I was a little girl, I would sit on my parent’s bed and watch the Style Network for hours and hours. I loved the stylist tips, seeing the runway shows, and learning the backstories from my favorite designers. Among them, was Ralph Lauren. Today, it feels surreal to show you these photos from my first Instagram collaboration with my childhood-dream brand.
Did you know that Ralph Lauren was actually in medical school when he realized he couldn’t handle the sight of blood and dropped out? From there, he decided to become a fashion designer. He created collections that were inspired by specific lifestyles rather than locations, a defined color palette, or time of year. His clothes allowed you to feel creative, let you to “try on” a new way of living, and experiment. One collection would be nautical inspired and make you feel like you had just spent a week away, sailing with a new lover while the next collection, a chic Safari. I love how he never seems to run out of ideas and adventures to take you on.
The outfit I selected from the spring collection is timeless, chic, and so well-made. Don’t you just love it when you find the perfect piece like that? I love the boat neck paired with intricate-bell sleeves and classic fit. The bright, red hue makes a statement, especially since my friends say I wear black too often. Haha! The best part? Even on your worst bloated days, you can feel chic in this dress and the fit is crazy-comfortable. I’m going to call it a win-win.
