Happy Thursday everyone! If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve already seen the sneak peek of this sexy little red dress that I just snagged from SaraBoo.
But for you to really understand my obsession with this dress and it’s magical ability to transform anybody’s mood, you need the backstory:
The day we took these photos, I was feeling pretty yucky.
The night before, three of our 4 kids had crawled into bed with us. If you have kids too, you know what this means…..It means you actually don’t sleep at all, get kicked in the head over and over again, and roll out of bed feeling like you just escaped a burning building the next morning.
I started working at 5:30 to work and watched the sunrise as I caught up on emails and drank my coffee in exhausted silence.
When the kids woke up, it was chaos as usual. (Oh how I love summer!) We went to a park for several hours, got in a great workout, started an unexpected period, and then worked more during nap-time/ quiet-time. As soon as Jon got home, we set off to take these photos. I was so tired I actually felt kind of sick.
That’s where this fancy little red dress comes in.
I always preach about the amazing benefits of wearing clothes that make you feel awesome…. but this dress was on a whole new level. The bandage design held everything in and even though I felt bloated as hell, “little red” was up for the challenge. (Yes… I name my clothes. Go ahead and judge me.)
I paired it with some new accessories (some bought and some new DIY’s) like this super-simple DIY Pom Purse. Read the post HERE
My vintage sunglasses have been part of my wardrobe for years. They are perfect for those days when you don’t have time to put on makeup and go with almost anything.
In my opinion, jewelry should almost always make a statement. The bigger, the bolder, the better. While basic hoops are kind of a classic, I love the modern details and uniqueness of these ones. Here are a few statement-making hoops from brands like Steve Madden and Ralph Lauren for under $50.
So as you get dressed today, I want you to take some time for yourself. Don’t save the clothes that make you feel great for special occasions. Wear what makes you feel great every day.
As a mom, I think it’s funny that I never do this with my kids. I buy them something awesome, then immediately get excited for them to put it on. Does anybody else do this too? Why don’t we do this for ourselves?
And just in case you missed it, the tutorial to make this bag is RIGHT HERE

Well lovelies, my question for you today is this:
What single piece in your closet brightens your mood the most? When was the last time you wore it?
